The controversy regarding climate change and if man has had any effect on it is not provable either way. Both sides have theories, one side has bettertmore scientifically plausible theories, but they remain just that. Theories are not, as some seem to believe, just the best guess of an expert, but it is an explanation of the subject made after experimentation, observation, reconsideration, more experimentation, and repeated results that are predictable. Theories are highly plausible, but hardly ever provable as fact. We except a LOT of theory as fact after we have lived with the theory and its applicability day to day, and year by year.
But, an opinion about a set of data is not a theory, and when presented as one purposely for one's own selfish purposes is a lie.
The introduction to this article presenting a very different theory of climate changing forces and their interpretation, is a very well written essay on opinion versus theory and what the harmful effects of opinion accepted as fact can, and has become.
Everyone should at least read the intro.
